Hello to everyone who loves both K-pop and animation!
Today, I’m going to share the reason why my playlist recently got a major shakeup.
Yes, it’s the <K-pop Demon Hunters> OST, and trust me, this isn’t just your average movie soundtrack.
Did you know it’s actually making history in the K-pop world?

Released on June 20th via Netflix, the animated film <K-pop Demon Hunters> is set in a uniquely Korean universe filled with shamanism, grim reapers, urban legends, and exorcist fantasy elements.
The moment it dropped, the reaction was explosive.
But what really stood out? The music.
The virtual idol groups Huntr/x and Saja Boys have leapt beyond the screen to become nominees at the 2025 K World Dream Awards in the Best OST category!
It’s Huntr/x’s 'Golden' vs. Saja Boys’ 'Soda Pop', and fans everywhere are on the edge of their seats to see who will be crowned the true “World’s Best Idol.”

The OST isn’t just background music. With tracks like 'Takedown' , 'How It’s Done', 'Golden' and 'Soda Pop', seven songs entered the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously!
The full album even reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, making it the highest-ranking animated soundtrack since Disney’s Encanto. That’s huge.

My personal favorite? 'How It’s Done'
The beat is insanely catchy, and the performance sequences felt like a full on K-pop stage show.
The song plays during a pivotal moment where Huntr/x begins to embrace their identity and purpose and the visuals are absolutely stunning.
And then there’s 'Golden' which truly lives up to its name.
It’s an emotional blend of hope and desperation, representing the group’s wish to complete a magical barrier.
Behind this masterpiece is EJAE, a former SM trainee and hitmaker known for Red Velvet’s 'Psycho' and aespa’s 'Armageddon'.
On the other side, Saja Boys is dangerously addictive.
Their track 'Soda Pop' fuses dark energy with EDM, and I can’t stop listening.
Sexy, provocative, and strangely familiar it almost feels like they’re real K-pop idols.
And their disbandment reason? 'They vanished'.
It’s a shocking yet strangely poetic end, and it only deepens the emotional pull of their music and storyline.

It makes the fictional world feel uncannily real.
K-pop Demon Hunters isn’t just an animated film.
It’s an epic universe where K-pop, Korean folklore, and the global music industry collide.

And now, the big question remains.
Huntr/x vs. Saja Boys. Who will take home the trophy?
But honestly, even this fierce competition feels more like a celebration for fans.
This stage where fiction and reality blend?
It’s a dream come true for any K-pop lover.
So, which group stole your heart?
Let the music decide.
